Statement of Faith

The Session of Grace Presbyterian Church, the School Board of GraceWay Academy, the Administration, and the Staff are mindful of God’s will that children should be taught the content and practical applications of His Word in every aspect of learning in every activity of life (Deuteronomy 6:4-9). We firmly believe that the Christian School is essential to the successful completion of these child-training responsibilities. It is the purpose of GraceWay Academy to establish an educational institution where students may obtain a sound Christian education that allows students to know that God is the central source of all knowledge, attitudes, and skills. Thus, we adhere to the following Statement of Faith in guiding the actions of the school:

We Believe

The Bible to be the inspired, inerrant, and authoritative Word of God and the standard by which all knowledge is judged

2 Timothy 3:16-17

"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."

We Believe

That there is one God eternally existent in three persons: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Luke 3:21-22

"When all the people were being baptized, Jesus was baptized too. And as he was praying, heaven was opened And the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: “You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.”"

We Believe

In the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory

1 Corinthians 15:3-4

"For I delivered to you, as of first importance, what I also received, that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the scriptures"

We Believe

In the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they who are saved unto the resurrection of life, and they who are lost unto the resurrection of damnation

Acts 24:15

"And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust."

We Believe

That the salvation and redemption of lost and sinful man is possible only through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, by grace alone

Romans 3:21-25

But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement,[b] through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith.

We Believe

In the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life

Galatians 5:22-23

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law"

We Believe

That all believers of our Lord Jesus are united in the body of Christ, and are eternally secure in this relationship

1 Corinthians 12:12

"Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ."

We Believe

That the term “marriage” only has one meaning: the uniting of one man and one woman in a single exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture

Genesis 2:21-22; 24-25

"So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man’s ribs[ and then closed up the place with flesh. Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man... That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh. Adam and his wife were both naked, and they felt no shame."

We Believe

That children and adolescents should be disciplined in Christian love

Hebrews 12:6

"Because the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son"

We Believe

That the teachings of Scripture are accurately summarized in the Westminster Confession of Faith, the Larger Catechism, and the Shorter Catechism.

2 Timothy 3:16–17

"All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work"

We Believe

That God offers redemption and restoration to all who repent, confess, and forsake their sin, seeking His mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ

Romans 10:9-10

"If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved."

We Believe

That every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity. Hateful and harassing behavior or attitude directed toward any individual, are to repudiated and are not in accord with the Scripture or the doctrines of GraceWay Academy

Luke 6:31

"Do to others as you would have them do to you"

We Believe

That God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a biological man and woman who are married to each other. We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and woman

Hebrews 13:4

"Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral."

We Believe

We believe that the Scripture dictates standards of sexual behavior. The unique roles of the male and female are clearly defined in Scripture. Any promiscuity, homosexuality, gender identity issues, or other deviations from Biblical principles is a sin that is offensive to God

1 Corinthians 6:9-10

Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

We Believe

That we live with the sex and gender that God chose for us because we believe that God wonderfully and immutably created us male or female and that those two different, complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God. Rejection of one’s biological sex is a rejection of the image of God within that person as well as a rejection of God’s creation ordinance.

Hebrews 13:4

"Then God said, "Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground." So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them."

We Believe

That God has given a variety of spiritual gifts to all believers according to His sovereign will for the buildup of the body of Christ. Believers are to be diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace that there should be no division in the body. All believers are baptized by the Holy Spirit into the body of Christ and are indwelt by the Holy Spirit from the moment of salvation.

Romans 8:8-10

Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God. You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ. But if Christ is in you, then even though your body is subject to death because of sin, the Spirit gives life because of righteousness.

We Believe

We believe that in order to preserve the function and integrity of GraceWay Academy within the body of Christ, and to provide a Biblical role model to the Ocala community, it is imperative that all persons employed at GraceWay Academy in any capacity or who serve as volunteers, agree to and abide by this statement.

Colossians 3:23-24

"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving"

GraceWay Academy is a ministry of Grace Presbyterian Church. Our private Christian school is where your child will grow both academically and spiritually. Centered on Christian beliefs and a strong academic cornerstone, every aspect of your child’s education is based on Biblical truth.
